Based on the South Coast our client specialise in the design and manufacture of advanced composite technology and delivery of the best technical solutions to markets worldwide. Products range from blades for wind turbines to super-class yachts and high-performance cars. In this role you will oversee the quality function of the wind energy group with the responsibility for supporting the drive to make the company the lowest cost producer of high quality composite materials by identifying and co-ordinating continuous improvement and cost saving projects and activities at all sites (UK, China, Spain, Canada). In addition you will be the main point of contact for Wind Energy customers with regard to Quality issues. Each site has a quality manager so Interaction with them will be key in order to coordinate, verify and report the KPI measures from all sites. Other key duties will include To support the BU Manager to define and review the WE Business Unit Quality Strategy. Establish a quality system and process that can be used as a model for all plants. Coordinate and support customer quality improvement efforts. Increase inter-plant collaboration and share best practice between quality managers. Establish a Sigma mentality at all sites to deliver 4Sigma+ performance levels on key products. To work with site Quality Managers to ensure that improvement projects are prioritised in line with the business unit strategy. To succeed in this role you will need to be a highly motivated, results and target driven individual who can deliver results, even in times of pressure. Be diplomatic and able to influence senior staff outside of your direct management. In addition to these necessary character traits candidates will be degree qualified in an engineering or chemistry related subject and be a member of a professional quality body. Be able to demonstrate substantial experience working at a senior level, in the quality function of a multi site manufacturing facility. Be a qualified auditor to TS16949 Be an experienced user of the principles and application of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement
