UK Site Manager

Based on the South Coast this global organisation specialise in the design and manufacture of advanced composite technology and delivery of the best technical solutions to markets worldwide. Products range from blades for wind turbines to super-class yachts and high-performance cars. In this role you will lead a site with over 200 employees with the aim of meeting and exceeding objectives for the profitable production of composite material products. 

Key responsibilities will be:-
- Manage Production in line with current KPI's, constantly review and improve KPI's. A hands on approach will be sought.
- Provide direction & leadership for the Production, Engineering & Logistics Team, UK HR, Finance & IT functions.
- Continually build and execute plans to ensure that Newport is a lean and efficient manufacturing site
- Manage the introduction of new Production Lines
- Deliver on agreed manufacturing objectives in terms of product output at expected productivity, cost, quality and delivery levels while maintaining a healthy and safe workplace.
- Develop, Initiate & Manage Capital Expenditure projects to achieve goals
- Manage agreed budget to ensure monetary resource is distributed correctly & effectively.
- Overall management of all UK facilities ensuring they are fit for purpose and cost effective.
- Manage communication, employee relations and morale across all teams and business units at the site
- Lead, communicate & promote company values, actively promoting a "team culture" across all teams & business units at the UK site.

Suitable candidates will have extensive experience of managing in a manufacturing environment in a comparable industry. (200+ employees, variety of working patterns & teams e.g. Logistics, Quality, Process Engineering etc). A Proven track record of having implemented modern manufacturing models such as Lean, Six Sigma, etc. and of having improved key indicators of a manufacturing plant. Proven expertise in managing, influencing & facilitating positive relationships between cross functional teams. A strong understanding of Financial Control & Management.

A degree level qualification in Engineering / Chemistry is considered essential , a Six Sigma belt is highly desirable, a management qualification ie MBA/DMS would be advantageous.

To succeed in this role a positive, sleeves up, hands on style of management is considered to be key, the ability to quickly build positive relations with all staff and to gain trust and understanding will be key to enabling change and improvement in all aspects of the business.
