Internal Sales Engineer

Well established and with a strong market presence our client specialise in the production of bespoke Tungsten Carbide Hard Metal Wear Resistant Products for use across a wide range of industrial applications.

They presently have a requirement for an internal sales engineer. This is a pivotal role within the business, handling all in bound enquiries in a timely and efficient manner, the building strong relationships with both existing and potential customers is key. To produce timely and efficient quotations using the in-house system and to proactively pursue quotations, handling queries and maximising sales. Liaise with the production team on manufacturing methods, times and scheduling and to be advised of the potential for any production difficulties or anomalies.
To effectively communicate with the Sales Manager, providing the status of placed and potential orders and to ensure the validity of quotations. Regularly keep in contact with customers to give progress on placed orders.
To effectively contribute to the company’s sales and marketing through positive ideas and initiatives.

Suitable candidates will be strong communicators able to build friendly positive relationships with customers and colleagues at all levels. They will be keen to learn about product and manufacturing methods and want to be involved in all aspects of an orders successful completion.
The ability to read/interpret an engineering drawing is important as is the want to understand the application for the product.
Strong commercial skills and the desire to drive profitable sales are key attributes.

Candidates could come from a commercial / sales / support department of a manufacturing / engineering business or possibly the shop floor with the necessary communication skills and commercial awareness to progress into an office environment.
